I'd like to find a nice factory radio for my car but not sure what was in it.
Does anyone have the radio PN or can you post a pic?

the 86 would have had a really low quality radio in it. We go to the junk yard and buy the newer style infinity or even cd/tape players out of the newer mopars and those plug right in. They sound much better! I think the radio harness plugs are the same up to about 1994 but i am not sure what year they switched over to a new style plug.
The grey & black connectors were used until 2001.
If you are wanting an original factory radio in order to keep your GLHS stock appearing, check out this thread on TeamShelby.
86 & 87 had the same unit.

Yep, I stand corrected on that. I just found out yesterday that the 86 & 87 had different units.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Omnis only had 2 speakers so no fader controls on an Omni Radio. Charger radio is similar but set up for four speakers.

My 85 GLH had the deluxe cassette radio. It only had 2 speakers but the radio did have a non-functioning fader control. Must have had a jumper on the plug in the radio harness.

Thanks gents!!!
With the help of many here, I decided to go with one of the factory AM/FM/single CD units. I was told it would fit. Found one for $50 including shipping.
I keep my car stored at a friends' shop and can't remember how the radio fits and is connected.
Do I have to pull the front part of the radio console off or can I slide the new unit in from the front without yanking anything off?
How are these decks wired? Plug and play or will I need a harness?
When the radio arrives, I'm going to get the car back out but if anyone can tell me what to expect.....thanks in advance!!!
you have to remove the front facia so you can slide it out as i recall. the stock radio just plugs in, not sure about the factory cd units. its like a 15 minute job.
glad you got a cd player, now you can listen to 80's music, how about Billy Idol's Whiplash Smile, cira 1986. i hear it makes the GLHS faster.
