    BSX-002 build...

I bought this car from a fellow member in August. The car came with a 8v 2.2, that had a load of LWP parts on it along with a GT35R turbo. It did pretty well on the dyno, 407whp and 335 on 18psi pump gas with a mild tune. It ran great, but I wanted another hybrid car to run on the street. And I wanted the creature comforts as well, air, etc..

This will be a similar combo to what the Shadow had until '06, in fact a few parts will be put back into service that came from that setup. It is a 2.2 shortblock, T2 rods with ARP wav-loc bolts, JE hybrid pistons with @ 8.7:1 CR. The head is a early 2.0/2.4 piece that Steve Menegon went through and worked some magic It has SI stainless valves with a 3 angle valve job. Exhaust will be fairly simple, an ATP cast turbo manifold for now, I was going to make a SS header, but I need to get this together so time is of the essence. Re-using the GT35R that came with the car, Turbosmart 38mm wastegate, and stainless DP. The intake side will be a bit different too, I'll be using 5" D-shaped plenum with a 60mm Jeep TB.

Gotta run, heading to work updates and pics later...

I look forward to seeing the build Brian.

Since this is the BSX-002 does that mean you plan to build over 100 of these? That would be awsome!!

I think so. Stage, push lever into "N", rev the crap out of it at the 1st yellow, on the 3rd yellow, pull the lever into "D" and hold on. Right?

    Re: BSX-002 build...

Plenum material showed up last week. The flange material and runners will be here this week, so I can get started. The head will be bolted on for good and the hotside mounted. I finished up the t-stat outlet last week. I brought it out the drivers side freeze plug in the head, same way as the BSX. Looks like a T3 top hose will drop in and work perfect.

The A/C will consist of all T3 parts. It gives me the most room at the manifold area(#1 cyl.) and is still a direct bolt in as far as lines, brackets, etc. go. The car will still use dual ems setup, SBEC to get all the factory gauges, a/c, and idle speed working and SDS to control spark and fuel.

Pics below show some of the mock up parts and different pieces I was trying. I'll get some better ones as the top end goes together.

Brian can you show some pics of how you setup the drains in the head back to the block? I know someone that is having a problem with too much oil in the head of his hybrid and would like to compare his drains to yours. As usual you do very nice work.

I'll get a pic today for you. What is his current drain setup like? Is he using a restrictor? How is the bottom end as far as compression, leakdown goes? In the Shadow I use a -10 drain on the passenger side of the head in the rear and a -12 an on the drivers side of the head. The feed has a .090 restrictor in it. For the Daytona I will be using 2, -10 lines from the back of the head.
