Bummer on the header but good work on getting it fixed,

I killed a stocker a month or so ago, and I've killed a few stockers over the years, plus a couple built ones, using slicks.

Its not the slicks that do it, its the power, but worry about that over winter and get some runs in now. Make sure you have a filter on the cooler line BEFORE the cooler, so if it frags, it won't plug or ruin it.

    When does your season end?

Nice, our season is done in 3 weekends,

Seat of the pants, man I hate that, lol. Soo many times I thought, man, it runs and feels awesome, only to hit the track, then have issues, IE lean out etc and run slow,

I know rarely have I went to track and been impressed with what I ran. I won't go if it's not running right with 20+psi boost @WOT. Right now I've hit 18psi briefly and it likes it alot, had it up to 5000 rpm but I want to take it up to 6500rpm but patience is the key right now. I'm a little timid for the moment, I've had so many setbacks and I'm trying to chase all the gremlins around it's exhausting.

    Re: My hybrid minivan

I have the tune close now. Looks like I may make it out this Friday, weather permitting. I finally got to keep it matted at 6500rpm, very nice. I'll try to post some knarly burnout vids, the spoolup on this setup is insane. It's just instant, breathe on it and it's there. It sneezes all the time, even at 1500rpm cruisin if you let off the throttle, sneeze. Blip the throttle in park, sneeze. Pull up in the driveway, turn it off, get out and listen to the turbo spoolin down for 45 seconds or so. Very cool, very impressive to drive, it's difficult to tell it's a turbo engine because acceleration is instant. I'm glad to see this thing perform as well as it does after an on and off again struggle to finish it. Sometimes there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. I just need that timeslip now.

Can't wait to see what you run. I am done, went out again the other night and winged it again, so now I have to wait until next year,

Well in case you didn't see it, I broke the input shaft on a 1-2 shift, 6500rpm. 18psi of boost. Sounded like a bone breaking. I'm gonna try to get her back together and to the track next weekend.

Yeah well there was shotty machine work on the shaft, like any other input shaft I've seen, but it sheared right on a lathe feed line.

if you polish the shaft and heat treat it according to racerstev's instructions found here: http://www.turbodiy.com/Mopar%20Page...s%20detail.htm it shouldnt fail as easy.

The way that snapped, it looks like it became brittle. So far, I haven't broken one,

Nice polishing job on the shaft,

Notice how your broken one necks down right where it broke?

How did you polish it? looks like you even got rid of the lathe marks.

Thanks Simon. I've had plenty of practice polishing my shaft lol. I did it on an engine lathe start with 60grit, then 120, then 300. All the feed marks are gone. Done. Yeah I had a questionable shaft to begin with, just hack work.

I should probably get one ready for next year, as I'll have a new engine and hopefully over 500 whp,
