T2 swap question: Using a daytona rad/ic combo

Ok Im trying to finish up my T2 swap in my GLHT. Im trying to go "simple" before I start throwing huge ICs and turbos on the thing, so for the time being Im going to try and put a daytona rad/ic combo in the car.

Ive got everything out of the front, and it actually fits (which i figured would be the major issue). As it turns out the only issue is finding a fan to fit it. The stock GLHT fan, and stock daytona fan both have interference on multiple levels.

So, in this situation, what have others done? Im assuming people have bought slimline electric fans and used them? Or I guess I can just use my GLHT radiator, and use the SRT4 IC like I plan to do eventually!

    thanks,

IIRC Summit do cheap slimline fans, if you want it to be semi-permanent don't use the through-rad fixtures though!

Is there any space for a push fan? Old Peugeots (ie. 10 years old) have low-ish profile push fans that could be squeezed in.

Buy a 14 inch electric fan off ebay. I bought a Derale knockoffs for about a 1/3 the price retail.

Yup, I got my rad/ic mounted tonight. TIGHT fit!!!!

anyway, my only option now is to buy a slim fan!

Tryinbe - is that a daytona radiator in your car?? Just wondering if the radiator cap clears the hood?? That is my only concern now.

    thanks everyone!

Just beat the hood support with a hammer or cut out a portion of it to clear. That's what they did on the '86 GLHS.

TII as in daytona, or TII as in GLHS? The filler neck looks like a daytona.

I would never refer any GLHS as TII, they're more like T 1.5.

I run a relay and a maxi-fuse with the aftermarket fan.

Remember I said MAXI fuse, a 30amp should be fine. You DO NOT want a regulator size 30 amp fuse in there, you'll start to see the plastic of that fuse start melting pretty quickly.

You can buy the maxi fuse and disconnect for them at any auto part store.
