    TBI Cast Valve Cover

I just picked up a TBI valve cover, but don't have the oil curtain. Is the oil curtain absolutely necessary when running the TBI valve cover? I just need to know if I need to start looking for one before I put the engine together.

Yes it is. The turbo cover uses an internal baffle over the pvc vent, the cast cover does not.
