    FFV plastic Spirit tank repair

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I ran across a FFV Spirit in a junkyard. And the grease monkeys had drilled a quarter sized hole in it to drain the fuel. Is there a reliable fix to patch a plastic tank?

I think it would be a great addition to the Spirit R/T I am putting together...no worrying about condensation in the tank during the Spring and Fall!

Don't these cars require a specific pump and sending unit?

That would be a great start. I have successfully used it to patch gas tanks multiple times and the patches lasted longer than the rest of the cars.

Doesn't the FFV tank have a higher capacity as well, like 18 gallons? Anybody know for sure?

Use some 3m DP805. Its what we use on aircrafts so Im sure it will resist any type of fuel you throw at it. Its 23 bucks a tube though.

I wonder if one of these plastic tanks from a Spirit would fit in an '86 Daytona. I need to replace my fuel tank and I'd much rather go with a plastic one.

"Hi, I'm Billy Mays for Mighty Putty"... The two part kneadable epoxies have fixed every fuel tank leak I've ever thrown at them, gonna need some kind of filler material for the quarter sized hole first though.
