I'm in...considering it a bachelor party for me of sorts since fiancee is having "her girls" over for the weekend and asked me to leave to go there! Driving the Spurt for casual racing (weather permitting).

    http://www.mpdragway.com/mopar.htm

Just found out from the site that box and no box is 1/8 mile

It doesn't have any rules for the 1/4 mile street class

I wrote them an email and waiting on a response:

I don’t see on your website the rules for the ¼ mile street class this weekend for the Mopar Southern Classic.

I also don’t see the entry fee for this class.

Also, will there be test-n-tune between rounds of racing?

Is there a designated camping spot, or do you just camp where you pit at?

    Thanks!

Weather forecast: Lows in the 40s highs upper 60s. chance of rain thru saturday morning.
At these low temps be advised that air mattresses are not recomended. Try
some kinda foam or exercise mat. much better. And a proper sleepin bag.

I still use the air mattress, but with a blanket on top, then an open sleeping bag on top of that. Insert yourself and/in female companion, then 2 more blankets on top, then another open sleeping bag as the comforter. It worked great last weekend in the cold, but not this cold.

I haven’t heard back from the track yet, but a buddy of mine that goes to this track often says that the ¼ mile street class allows slicks….so I guess we’ll be running in that.

It turned out real nice! It keeps raining here so I haven't had a chance to drive it. I hope it works as good as it feels with me sitting inside and making rev noises and shifting the gears!

Still working on the wiring as well. Hope to finish it all up tonight and put it on trailer in the morning.

I got a response from the track!

For the Mopar event 1/4 Mile is footbrake only doorcars.
It is $30 entry fee per day.
We'll run time runs (2-3 depending on time constraints) then eliminations.
There are a few guys that are only going to test, they will run when we call 1/4 mile.
    Camp where you are pitted.

    Saturday UPDATE:

Cool and couldy Saturday made for several personal bests:

Fleck ran a 13.52 on drag radials in Evil Spirit, his best ever run in the car!!

Pa Reeves went a best ever 13.09 in the Hemi Charger R/T.

James went 10.81 @ 133 + and shocked many non believers...

James + Fleck were the only 2 FWD cars running, but were getting lots of attention in the pits from the crowd...

    More racing today....

Almost forgot the highlite of the trip home:

Middle of nowhere Kentucky, foggy, 12 midnight, Mom & Dad Reeves, me + TurboShadow in the Reeve's Hemi Charger R/T.

    We round a bend:

    DUI CHECKPOINT!!!

Mom was driving, we pull up, 6 State Troopers with flashlights....

Dial in on the window says "13.00"

    Trooper #1: "Wow, 13 flat?!?!!?

    Mom: "We wanted a 12.xxx"

Trooper #2: "That thing sounds WICKED!!!"

Trooper #1: "Drive safe, have a good night"

    Priceless.....
