Adding cruise control to a 94 Duster

Karl (Dodge Aries K) hooked me up with a neat 3.0 5 speed Duster and I've been tinkering with it. Originally if didn't have cruise or tilt, so I swapped in a column that had those two things. Karl had already added the cruise servo under the hood, so I figured I was ready to rock and roll. But it's not doing anything.

So I hooked up the OTC4000 that I bought 2nd hand a while back (without any instructions). I was doing my best to figure things out...found my way to the "Help" section where it told me that the cruise control will be either "ON, OFF, or ACTIVE". Well it's reading that my cruise is "OFF".

So my questions are:

Does my computer still think the car has no cruise control?

Can I turn it "ON" with the OTC?

And if so, can someone walk me through it?

Either your computer has cruise or it doesn't. I've hooked up the cruise control components to none cruise control cars and got lucky with it working. Sounds like your not so lucky. I highly doubt you'll be able to turn the cruise on or off with any scan tool. You might check the wiring and fuses to make sure you've gotten it all.

Oh yeah, checking the fuse would be a good idea, huh? Thanks man, I'll go look at it!

Paul, I don't think I put a fuse in for the cruise control... so I'd check that for sure. Otherwise we'll have to find a different PCM to make it work.

Ok, so I got out the service manuals and looked up the schematics and traced some wires and found one that was broken...er...I mean...the fuse was missing (duh)

Glad it works. Enjoy my hard labor of installing that vac reservoir and servo.
