Whats the deal with the title?
bought it off someone who hasn't received it yet from DMV, and it's been 8 weeks and I'm pissed because I need a vehicle to drive. If it don't sell I'm junking it .
Well if you decide you don't want it....I will buy the Shelby parts off of it. That does suck about the title though. From what I understand NY doesn't let you get a title on the spot either. Down south in every state I have lived they print them on the spot. But as far as I know, If he is the legal owner to the car you both can go to DMV together and sign a transfer.

the PO lost the title and the DMV hasn't sent a copy to him? Or the PO hasn't mailed one to you? Are you in contact with the PO? If so, get a notarized statement of the sale and the PO stating he has requested a duplicate title from the DMVand not received it in 8 weeks! THAT should be enough to get things going.
One more thing. A rust free 87 SL is NOT a winter beater regardless of what you paid.
In any state it is 100% illegal to sell a car that you do not have or can produce a title for. Make him get it or get your money back.
DMV say's it's still pending, PO bought it from out of state and registered it on the Nov 29th I bought it on Dec 7th DMV wont say anything else, my son registered his shelby 3 weeks ago and the title came yesterday.

NY can be slow with out of state titles, my last one took almost 3 months to show up and it was from NJ.

If you have the VIN I might be able to check it out. Also I need a throttle cable off a Shelby Lancer, but that car sounds too nice to part out. You need a title to sell the car.
The PO was on the phone with DMV yesterday, they put a rush on it and said it could take up to 2 weeks, at least it's on the way and if that's the case I will be keeping it for now.
That's awesome man! I hope it works out for you. NY was always pretty slow with DMV. Everywhere else in the world they print the title on the spot. I'm glad you will get to keep the car and enjoy it.
That's good news. Still want to see pictures of your car though !!!
