+1 to 32mm... Some aftermarket axles come with 36mm nuts on them.. DSS does. had to turn down the OD of the end of the impact socket to fit int he hub snout and around the nut.

I need to get an impact for the junkyard. I swear some of the nuts in the yard are 500ft/lb. breaks a standard socket.
JT, quit bragging about your big nuts.
Yeah, when they've been on there for a long time, they'll be tough to remove. When I had my Shelby Z, I broke one breaker bar on them, bent the one I got to replace it, and finally ended up having to borrow an air compressor to remove them. Haven't broken a socket yet though; those $8 ones from O'Reilly's are suprisingly beefy.
+1 to breaking a 1/2in breaker bar on an axel nut that was 1 1/4in and the second one twisted the other 1/2 breaker bar i had
I've got an 800 ftlb impact that won't get some loose...bust out the monster bar with a 1-1/5 6 ft long pipe...and impact socket of course...of course I've never torched them first
thanks guys... someone should put this stuff in the KC
I've stood on my breaker bar (I weight 250lbs) and jumped a bit and can't get them to come off in the JY sometimes. Usually happens to a really nice looking axle too. Really pi$$e$ me off.
i just stick a jack handle on my craftsman breaker bar and they usually come pretty easy
I have run a chain from the bar to the frame of a car and put it in drive to get them to break loose before. Sometimes it requires a good amount of the go pedal, but they come loose.
