eeek! Lots of smoke and something burning on the inside!
okay, on my drive home from school last night which is only a mile away i turned my headlights on.
in the top left corner of the dash i could see the reflection of something glowing... i didnt really pay any attention to it, since my car is glowing all over from various lights and the dash, untill it started smoking....
smoke poured out of the speaker vent right there and it was glowing bright bright bright yellow. im like ----... luckily i was in my nieghborhood, and i turned the car off and the lights off, and it went away... when i started the car woohoo nothing, no glow no smoke nothing!, as soon as i turn on the lights smoke EVERYWHERE.
so i drove home in the pitchblack and put my car in the garage...
any ideas?

Had the exact same problem in our 89 Acclaim. Turned out the light actuator (the knob you pull backwards) was defunct now and would short out. Go to the junkyard and replace the actuator and you'll be just fine. In the meantime, do not touch your lights.
