Talking Back in the 12's baby!!!!!!!!!!!

So after hitting the dyno the other night, I was a bit dejected. So today, figured I'd go as Bakes wanted to come and help me out and he could help look after my son. He brings his laptop but again, it won't work with my Ostrich so there must be something wrong. On the way to work, it had been leaner, at 20 psi it was 12-12.5:1 but no knock, we decided to do it old school and turn up the fuel pressure. I added some Nitrolube fuel additive and a few gallons of C16 to a very low tank and ready to go.

So get to the track, turn up the pressure 8 psi, so base of 63 psi, put slicks on and stage for 20 psi. Do a burnout stage and can't really build boost fast enough so off I go, it jumps and the CEL comes on, 10.5:1 AF and rip off a whopping 14.0@95, 2.0 60ft. I was running against a turbo Honda but he was doing a shakedown run, I beat him but later on, he was running 11's.

Go back, scratch my head and go back out, same thing, as soon as I launch, the CEL comes on from the slicks grabbing and it goes into knock retard, again 20 psi, 14@92, 2.1 60ft Can't remember what I raced but killed him, he ran a 17 sec 1/4.

Now I am pissed so disconnect the knock sensor-yes, you can tell me I am dumb, lol, but I can hear it, seriously. So I give it a few clicks off boost and off I go, I race a 2008ish BMW, higher end. This time, pulled hard and smooth, 10.9 AF, beat him and the announcer and crowd pissed themselves, I ran 13.4@98, 1.9 60 ft to his 14.0@103. 23 psi of boost.

So back I go, a few more clicks, race a 350Z convertible, 25 psi, rip off a 13.0@99.8 1.9 60 ft to her 14.9@94. It pulled cleanly and felt good, I would have got a 12 but it wouldn't go into 3rd, I lifted the gas then it shifted, I planted it and it went back to 2nd, you can hear it in the vid. AF good at 10.9:1.

Now the crowd is getting ansy, lol, bakes is laughing, a few more clicks and off I go, I manage to get the 350 again. She comes out of the hole HARD, its pulling like mad, 30 psi but the needle is bouncing?, rip of a 12.8@102 1.9 60ft and she runs the same times. AF still good at 10.9:1

Now the crowd has lost it, bakes thought he heard the turbo surging. I give it a few more clicks and I am pitted against a brand new GTR, we go and f*ck me, we are neck and neck, 33 psi but then it leans out for a sec, drops to 25 and back to 30, and now I can hear it surging, he gets me, but its close. I run a 12.9@103 to his 11.7@118. I go talk to him and he said said his boost dropped and came back too. He had a chip and exhaust for mods. That was the best run of the night, I almost beat a $100,000 supercar,

Last run, added more boost but it surged badly, ran a 13.0@101, so I called it a night. I could have got 4-5 more runs in, but my son was tired and I have to go bike racing today.

I have vids so I'll post as I get them uploaded, the GTR vid is awesome,

So now, I need to tune it and figure out the surge problem. I also have a hard time building boost at the line, I think my converter could be too tight,
