hey all, I need a 2.5 or 2.2 (preferably forged if 2.2) commonblock crankshaft. Also interested in some 2.5 pistons for .020 overbore. Im in the southbend, IN area but I can also drive out to the chicago area if anybody out there has anything

I have a tall deck crank. It's basically a CB crank, but the snout is setup to fit the earlier square tooth sprocket.

Oh, and if you are building a long rod motor, I also have the set of long rods that came out of the tall-deck 2.5...

    I have a 2.5 CB crank, needs a .010/.010 grind. $50 + shipping.

They're basically just long LW rods. But, I've heard you can swap the caps on a LW rod and it's better(?). Maybe that's possible with these as well. They'd obviously need to be resized after the cap swap...

Re: WTB: 2.5 or 2.2 commonblock crankshaft

no long rod engines for me, although that would be pretty sweet if the rods were stronger

Im doing a hybrid engine with my dad for his sandrail. We have a 2.2 forged crank that we thought was for a commonblock but we just found out it isn't after we put most of the engine together

So now I think we are just going to do a 2.5l so we don't have to worry about piston to valve clearance.

I picked up a 2.5 turbo engine for cheap at the junkyard today though so I think im set but now I need a 2.2l commonblock oil pan lol. Thanks for the offers though
