GTP goes down to ChinaTown!

lol coming back from Ephrata the other day (from a hearing for a speeding ticket I got ) I ran into a new Pontiac GTP supercharged. We caught a light together at the edge of town that turns into the highway. (2 lanes turn into 1). He looks at me, I throw him a rev, he looks away. I can tell he's gonna go from the way he tightens his grip on the steering wheel.

I hold the RPM's at about 2200 as the lights to the side turn yellow. Light turns green and we both got on it from the start (Damn I hate that white paint that they put on the crosswalks. Car peels out everytime on them things and it sounds aweful!). Even through first gear, I hit 2nd and he gains 1/2 a car length I catch traction and start pulling 1/2 way through second gear. I hit third and I'm still pulling. Top out third and I got 2 lengths on him. I hit the brakes and he flys by me then pulls into a reststop! haha

Good race!

Now I got a race this weekend with a 99 GT with headers, exhaust, and 1" TB spacer. I think he'll beat me, but we'll see!

Sorry, it's a 99 Mustang GT. And I didn't get a chance to run him this weekend, too busy with work and my orchard. But I'll call him this week and setup a race for the weekend. He claims three hundred something hp but I seriously doubt it. He's kind of an assclown and not real well liked.

Got-ya... Your car is an RT... You should wax the GTP up top... Had no clue what you were driving. Also you mentioned 3rd gear and no more Si I figured it was an auto.

while this is definately NOT typical, a guy on the W-body forum just ran a 14.639 @ 92.78 w/2.052 60' with a '99 Grand Prix GT. only mods were K&N cone filter, ud alternator pulley, 180 t-stat, and no cat/u-bend/resonator. and the car had 207,000 miles! awesome ET for that trap speed; that's better than most stock GTPs.
