    Cam snapped

Posting on both boards because i'm heading to the JY and need info asap.

92 dodge shadow witha 2.5 TBI in it. Cam snapped under the oil cap, and I am wondering what all cams will work from the JY for it.

    Re: Cam snapped

If you are feeling spunky the 88s are rollers also. The 2.2 88tbi cams is square tooth, though it is also more aggressive. They both have different cam gears than the newer cams.

    Re: Cam snapped

The cam snapped in the same place on my '90 Daytona a couple years back when I still drove it...what a bummer haha. But yeah, any TBI roller cam should work for you.

    Re: Cam snapped

It seems like everybody that snaps a cam (myslef included) ends up snapping them right below the oil fill cap. I would guess the timing belt was too tight.

When the cam snapped on my Shadow ES, I replaced the cam with a new '89 turbo roller from Relentless Racing. It was fine after that, no need for align boring the head or resurfacing. The cam that snapped was an '88 TBI roller I got from the junkyard.
