I'm going thru a 2.2 T1 motor, as cheaply as I can. So far I've put in new main bearings, front and rear seals, it has a newer water pump and cam belt tensioner (10-12K on them). I have a new set of rod bearings to go in also.

It was an '86 model LW rod motor, and the pistons/rings had a pretty heavy gunk build up on them, but the cylinder bores look good, (better than the ones in the Lebaron now) I have a set of pistons/rods from an '85 2.2 T1, that look ok. I also have the LW rods with newer Sealed Power pistons (533P) and Sealed power rings on them, with 15K or less on them. #1. I could get new rings to put on the '85 pistons/rods, which would give me higher compression, (running a swirl head). 2. I could put the newer Sealed Power pistons on the '85 rods, 3. Least desireable, I could put the LW rods and SP pistons in and call it a day. (least $$ spent)

Opinions?
