    run away. far away.
it works by pushing two metal blocks against the spider gears. ALL THE TIME. so when you turn the spider gears wear on the block. i have seen the carnage.

Agreed! I even upgraded to the gold springs. I haven't destroyed my trans yet, but they only seem to work OK in low hp situations. Save the $250 and get a real lsd when you save up to $1000.

Just get an OBX from TU. It is only $500 with them switching out the cheap hardware and cleaning it up.

i wouldn't question the experience of the others as cited above but when you have an A-525 and a light car and want an LSD there's only the Phantom Grip unit (no other product is available) and for me it has worked flawlessly, and was installed/recommended by "The Trany Guru" Cliff Ramsdell. maybe for other than the 525 there are better choices?

Good point if your keeping the 525 but if not, I honestly wouldn't chance it.

I have a Phanton Grip in one of my A413 transmissions and so far NO probelms.
But I will NOT bolt slicks to the Mini, just Drag Radials.

How many miles you drive a year with your 86 GLHS?

Result of block type LSD in less than 6000 miles.
