1986 daytona help

I got my son a 1986 dodge Daytona turbo z. It sat in a garage for 10 years. The original owner parked it because it would run for 20 minutes and die. I brought it home and replaced the fuel pump and a new battery and it ran great for 3 days then died. Now when it starts it will run till you shut it off then it will not start till it is ready. I put a inline spark tester on it and it has no fire. Then one time you hit the key it will start and once again it will run till you shut it off. It has bin at a local garage for over a week and me and my son are both getting tired of waiting for them to figure it out. If anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks RAY

i would start with the hep. it is under the dist. cap. two wires with a black and whitd plug. it controls fuel and spark. i always carry a spare

Ignition coil might also be suffering from heat soak. Check to see that the shutter wheel in the distributor is properly grounded. They come loose occasionally.
