    Wastegate Rod Weirdness

Recently got an '89 Shadow and have it torn apart for rebuild. The wastegate rod has been modified, not pretty. Previous owner installed a T3 turbo, and what looks like a large can wastegate. The rod is bent very strangely, see the pictures. Does it look like it's been bent to clear the stainless oil feed line? And did the T3 rod come with the adjuster piece or was this added also? Suggestions on what to do here, please. Should I replace the whole mess with a new large can?
    Thanks, Randy

It looks like it will probably clear the nut in that second pic. I would run compressed air to it and see if it will indeed clear and go from there.
