ECM Solenoid Drivers (How much current?)

Can anyone tell me how much current the purge solenoid and cruise control outputs can handle? I'm going to try the alcohol injection setup on the Turbonator LM codebase and would like to know if I need to drive a FET with the output, or if it can handle a relay that uses a couple amps to close.

My goal is to have the LM turn on a relay at a set boost pressure, then use that relay to power a FET that is being switched by the injector driver. This should somewhat regulate the quantity of alcohol going into the engine so it is proportional to engine demand. I can then change the nozzles to set the maximum rate.

Pretty easy to figure out - measure the impedance (resistance) of the coil. I = V/R. I'm sure it would still be safe at 25% over capacity...

That'll work. I'll measure the solenoid tonight after I find the intermittent short in the J2 splice after the ignition switch in my GLHS. It has to be something that's not fused...
