Speedo cable

For a Shelby Charger.

Mine, after 22 years of service decided to take a dump this evening. It's the lower half that broke (pulled it out of the sleeve) where can I find another lower half?

I may have to end up driving my car down to SDAC and would prefer to know what speed I'm travelling at.

This speedo cable it a two piece unit, lower half goes to the tranny speed sensor to a joint where the second half goes to the speedometer. I need the lower half.

What other cars had this style if I decide to go to a scrap yard?

Anyone in the Montreal area have one?

If your cable is anything like the one I have in my omni, you can get the upper half to screw into the SDS. I don't necessarily recommend it, as it probably shortens the life due to the more extreme angle it must make at the trans, but it does work. If that fails, you could also print out a little chart which tells you what speed you are at in what gear. I have had to do that before and it is no fun, but it works.

I just put the upper end into the sds and it works. For how long??? No big deal, next time I spot a charger or omni at the scrap yard, I'll score the cable.

I see we are on the same page in that regard. It has been working for a couple thousand miles in my car like that.

I wanted to say thanks again for the cable. I haven't installed it yet but will probably get to it as the car has been on jack stands with the tranny out ever since I've been back from SDAC.

It was great seeing and chatting with you again this year.
