    3.0 trans

I might be picking up a very clean plymouth duster 4 door 3.0l v6. the guy said that it needs a flex plate. just wondering if the trans is the same as the 2.2 2.5 trans a413. If its possible can the flex plate be swapped from the 4cyl trans to the 3.0 trans. just wanted to know because a buddy of mine has a couple of blown a413 trannies laying around.

If its the 3 speed, you should be ok as they use the same flywheel.

They used the 4 speed automatic in the P body cars.

they used 4 speed in all cars, but I believe 3 speed was an option

and either way the flexplate will swap. any old used 2.2/2.5 flexplate from 3spd auto car will work on a 3spd 3.0 car.

however, i think the 4spd 3.0 cars used a larger diameter torque converter bolt pattern so if its a 4spd it MAY not interchange with 3spd flexplates.

New ones are really cheap though.

However, I've seen the same flexplate listed for 3 or 4 speed minivans, but could be vendor error.

some of the flexplates have dual converter bolt patterns.

For example, some 96-00 3.3/3.8 caravan sports have dual pattern flexplates. They all use the same 604 4spd, but the SPORT models have the smaller (same as 3spd) converter for stall reasons.
