does it not go in at all, feel rubbery, or does it grind or pop out?
put it in second (car parked and off) and reach down there and see howm much slack there is in the piece that pushed on the linkage...sometimes they pull out of the rubber boot (cheap cables) and when soft shifting it is fine but pull hard and it goes limpy at that joint...then banging into third sets it back in place....
What you describe sound almost exactly like what I experience I can find third and after I do that second works at well. No grinding or pop out. So what's the fix mopar cable? The PO put a napa cable in as the dealer did not have the cable in stock.
Dealer cable is uber expensive (like 200$ or some crazy crap), but the Napa replacements aren't that great...I've killed a few of them this way. You're best bet is going to be used from a yard or forum member. I've got a busted Napa cable in the garage that failed like this.
Its brand new I should be able to switch it out under manf defect if it is bad again. I better check in to that. Not to many in boneyards around here.
