LOT OF PEOPLE ,LIKE SIMON, MYSELF LIKE NGKs BR9s& 4s, they work well,
at high boost, the electrode(porclean part) is under, plug . resisting to detonation.
But as well the stock, 1 sep colder AUTOLITES.CHAMPIONS WORK WELL'
WIDER THE GAP, MORE THE BOOST ,CAN BLOW OUT THE CANDLE, STOCK AND TIGHTER CLEARANCE.35-.28. SIMON LIKES TO TALK ABOUT PLUGS,LOL

    Re: spark plugs

I just switched to Champions' RN9YC gaped at .025. Car runs a lot better than when they were at .030. I probably could run .028 but I am not sure how weak my coil is.

    Re: spark plugs

They dont really make more hp, but.... I never had ignition issues... its really just an amp so that you get cleaner power at high rpm.

The 6AL is in the Shadow now. I put a 7al2 in the Z when I put the FAST in it with the 2.2L. Now I have a DIS2 Plus with the 2.4L... you can say I like MSD boxes, LOL

    Thanks, I think.

Funny thing, I just read an article today about when switching a motor to forced induction or , to switch to recessed tip plugs, so they dont' glow like a torch,

    I like BR9EIX or BR9ES or AR51's.

Gap is what you can get away with before it blows out. I run an Aurora coil and run .030" plug gaps, even at 30 psi.

Which coil are you using? HV70M? I'm wondering if a better ignition would help while running E85.

    Re: spark plugs

run the AR51's i already showed you them

the autolite 69s i had are the same as a rn9yc

we are steering away from the champion plugs, as they have caused problems. a bad plug ruined juniors race weekend. he forgot his spare plugs @ home and what do ya know he sure needed em lol

I ran NGK V power in the 3L....tried it in the turbo car and they sure werent V power after a few thousand K lol didnt take long to burn through em

    Re: spark plugs

hmmm seems like people are starting to like the AR51's. I LOVE THEM! Cut back electrode for better flame propagation. If you compare it to another plug you'll also notice that the electrodes, insulator and the threaded portion are also thicker for better heat dissapation. They're as cold as an RN6 champ but run in a stock TD just fine. We took my used AR51's and replaced brand new champs (like 5 mins run time in the garage) and the car idled smoother and revved up quicker.

so you like the champs better?

so by the sounds of it the RN9YC and the AR51's r the best ones to run?

Yep, or whatever coil they sell. If you do run one, make sure to ask for the one Simon runs, the newer ones have too much dwell and misfire,

Yep, last forever and run awesome.

I also found the V-powers just dont' last,
