Brake Warning Light Won't Turn Off

My drive way is very steep so I always set the parking brake in the Daytona. Plus, it is a manual. This morning I got in, pulled the brake release, started up the car, and started backing out of the driveway and that's when I noticed the brake warning light was still on.

I got out, checked the fluid and it was good, have 19inhg and cannot hear a vacuum leak, the pedal is still good and hard, and the car stops just fine.

My guess is that the parking brake switch is f'ed up. Where is it located? Or do I have something else wrong now too?

In my experience with my other TMs, the switch is located near the handle, or pedal for the E brake.

Well, I never got around to looking for the switch.

I guess the car wasn't stopping just fine. The front left caliper was at least partly frozen. Put in a new rebuilt caliper, new brake hoses on both sides, new pads (Porterfield), and my finacee helped to bleed the brakes. Went through almost an entire bottle of brake fluid.

The brake warning light is still on. Still doesn't exactly come to a jerky stop but it does stop quickly. Both calipers appear to work.

    What's wrong?

I would check out the switch in the car to make sure that isn't the problem. I would then look at the switch on the prop valve to see if it is the problem. Make sure you have enough fluid in there too.

The stupid switch had moved out of place. That was an easy fix that I waited far to long to even inspect.

Glad to hear that it was only the switch.
