a/c loss in 07 pt cruiser

07 pt cruiser with ~40k miles: with the a/c on high & recirculate, after a non-consistant amount of time (anywhere between 5 & 30 minutes), one or both of the following will happen: the air flow coming from the vents will decrease to nearly nothing and/or the temp goes lukewarm. If I switch it off for ~a minute & cut it back on, usually everything's good for 5-30 minutes. Any ideas?

    Thanks

I'm not a A/C tech but it sounds like the refrigerant is low and the evaporator is icing over. Shutting it off allows it to thaw and work for a bit.
