I should have camber plates available shortly which could also be used to fix the camber issue.

Otherwise matching the holes up with the strut body as the reference rather than the original holes should do the trick. Great job on this either way. It always takes me lots of trys to get things right and it sounds like you got it very close on the first try.

So the pic posted is the correct way to locate the hole? Or did you you have to move the upper hole?

Sorry, I will update the OP once i get the hole redrilled. The hole needs to be closer to the strut body just like the original strut. On the very first pic in the OP you can see the marks I made using the template off the stock strut, that's where it needs to be.

Otherwise, I have still been daily driving the car with no issues. Struts are great! I now have them set to "2".

Yes! Or you can just buy any numbers of coilovers for the subby and modify them.

Re: KYB AGX adjustable strut install on TD!!!!

I wanna know how you chuck up a strut in a lathe to do the machining of the thrreaded area. I've been trying to picture it in my head, and just can't seem to figure it out. It seems to me that the lower body would throw the whole thing out of whack and even if turning it slow would wobble quite a bit, not to mention the shaft being able to turn freely inside the body.

If there are any pictures of this process, I'd love to see them!

I was going to post yesterday but I forgot, Ground Control has 3 kits for the Suby struts.
Difference is the spring length, they are all $399.00

I didn't even think it could be done either. Brian has an attachment for his lathe that holds the strut(or whatever he wants)in a way that secures and centers it. Its hard to explain in words......

Re: KYB AGX adjustable strut install on TD!!!!

I understand the 4-jaw chuck, but unless you have a giant lathe the center isn't going to be large enough to let the strut body through the center. I wouldn't figure you would want to chuck the threads becuase it could damage the threads and it would make the tool extremely close to the chuck as well. If you did it this way you could use a free roller on the other end of the strut to support it, but I just didn't figure this would be safe or the way it was done.... That's why I'm asking.

Brian has one of those old lathes, it's about 5-7 feet long.

That still didn't do me any good. How was the strut mounted in the lathe so the shaft could be turned?

I installed the nut onto the threaded end of the strut and chucked that end into the lathe. Then I used a steady rest with a roller bearing attachment on the other end of the shaft before it enters the strut body.

Ah..ok. I thought about that, but ruled it out because the strut body would not be balanced causing a vibration as well as the tool possibly getting very close to the chuck and the nut. Clearly you got it to work though.

Thanks for making it more clear!

No sweat. It is hard to visualize things sometimes. I should have taken a pic when it was mounted...i suck

So did I on my Charger, except I didn't mill the spindles, I just bent the flanges out a tad so it would slide in (doesn't take much, like a 1/16th). Then drilled the new spindle bolt hole, knocked the 3rd stud out of the top hat and bolted it in. No milling, grinding etc at all, just drill 1 hole.
