    Question Mopar head gaskets

Is there really a big difference between the 005 and 006 headgasket?

I understand the difference is the cross drilled holes in the turbo II head. However I have heard the holes dont really make much of a cooling difference.

I believe some of the coolant passages are restricted in the 006 gasket to force more water through the cross drilled holes. All the guys have pretty much convinced me to run an 005 gasket from now on.

    Re: Mopar head gaskets

I'm rebuilding my '89 2.5 motor and ready to install the cylinder head. '89 and above are cross-drilled, right?, and should use the 006 gasket. After reading this thread last month, I bought the 005 instead. Can someone verify one last time that I'm not screwing up by using the 005 on my cross-drilled head? Hope to get the head on this weekend......

Yes, you can use the 005 gasket.

Thanks, now verified by a trusted source

Have yet to install the Garrett T2 I got from you almost a year ago. STILL waiting for a three inch swingvalve......I could have fabricated one myself with a block of metal and a dremel tool by now.
