    Re: 2.5 stalling

My guess is the AIS, or base idle adjustment. It could be your ignition timing too I guess if it's way off.

    1. Check ignition timing, make sure it's set to 12* with the coolant temp sensor unplugged after it's up to temp.

    2. Car up to temp in neutral and running. unplug the line to the brake booster. The car will rev really high. Let it do that for several seconds.

    3. Unplug AIS, plug vac line back in. If the car stalls, try to start it back up. You might need to open the TB with a screw driver, or more likely a torx bit for it to stay running if it's really far out.

    4. With the car running, and the AIS still unplugged, adjust the idle to 900RPM.

    5. Plug the AIS back in.

Congrats, you've just reset both your ignition timing and base idle ruling both of those out. It might take a bit for the car to learn the new idle, but don't worry about it. It might idle high for a while, but it should come back down and the stalling should (hopefully) have stopped.

There are two things on the driver's side of the throttle body. It's the lower one.

don't keep that 2.2 cal for the 2.5.. the timing for it is alot more aggressive and can cause some engine damage down the line

Nice catch. There is no way I would run a 2.2 computer on a 2.5 these days. I know a lot of the guys who have been around have gotten it to work, but there is just no reason to do so with custom cals etc. out there for free.

It will be lean and have too much timing. It's a bad combination for sure.

You need to back the timing off to 8*. I have heard many of the guys who ran 2.5s on 2.2 electronics state that 8* is the way to go.

You don't need a car. There is plenty of fun to be had just hanging around.
