    intercooler piping

I am giving up on going fast and want to put a/c back into the car. I have a intercooler with inlet and outlet on same sides. I wanted to put the intercooler facing the ground and wanted to know if that is a good or bad idea. I also wanted to know if I use the pipe benter at work to make the piping since its not a mendrel bender but it is smooth bend instead of wrinkle would it create any issues. I want to make my own piping and weld it together. Would this work and still be effieciant enough for some fun

Crush bending is fine but it restricts flow but if your not going for all out power, then it doesn't matter. If your going towards the ground, thats also fine but if its going to stick down, maybe make up a shield so it doesn't get rippped off.

Crazy Mark went 13.5 on smush bent pipes.. i tend to think the REAL crush stuff is the stuff with the ridges all through the bend.
i wouldnt point the ic at the ground.. no air flow where it needs it.

Not sure what car you are talking about, but here is how hooked up a Spearco FMIC. http://www.pbase.com/rmscott/new_intercooler
You can get the mandrel "J" bend pipes from Summit Racing.
The White Spa hose in the pics is being replaced with St. Stl. 2 1/2 piping. The 2" ID Spa hose worked ok, EXCEPT it was hard to keep from blowing off at the joints at anything over 13psi.
