    programming issues

I need some help programming,Im have a Universal Willem EPROM programmer PCB5.0

    http://www.keeelectronics.com/catalo...products_id=51

it seems to work good(erasing, loading files, reading etc...)but after programming
It always seems to disply errors! (didnt copy file correctly?) displays--->

0x000000 chip=0x00 buffer0x52(just an example)which is randome to offset and buffer.

I'm starting to become frustrated like Simone----->
    http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...t=34154&page=2

Any help is greatly appreaciated Having sleepless nights right now and and feeling the pain of those who have succeded

Have you set the switches properly? what chip are you using? are you using the right offset?

Do you have the chip oriented properly in the burner? The little notch should be toward the lever on the ZIF deal.

too add to that make sure you are putting the chip in all of the way to the back of the socket(away from the lever)

    YES!

    sst27sf512! (erased before program)

offset@ 8000-pop-up asks "do you want offset at 0x008000"!yes then chip

starts at $008000!does this sound right?

    thanks 4 response-richard;-)

OK, it erases properly. Did you remove the 'erase' jumper before you tried to program it? I'm not sure which jumper it is on PCB5.0...

    [/QUOTE]

Sure did,can locate and post jumper locations,I also tried programming in

different Modes Between PCB5.0 and PCB3B w/jumpers moved around

it seems to reconize changes(also w/ usb port or 12v jumpers must be moved!)not shown here though!

Everthing stays in normal mode except "speacial chip settings" see top rt for sst settings!

    ShelGame=i've had your name changed(looking at buffer)ie;rod Ljo'yd--

erased chip(several times at once!)reprogram never move or touch chip!!!!

your name is then ok but errors now moved elsewhere(chip? burner?)

chip erase jumper settings(w/remove jumper after erase)

    selected chip,vpp settings(manual states sst always burns @ 12v vpe even w/usb or 12v dc power!)Also lower rt corner--offset(hex)changed to 8000 then a prompt asking "program @ 0x008000 offset"=played with this= chip starts @ oooooo or 008000 offset!

    thanks richard;-)

Ok, are you sure your program is valid or good? I've had that happen, used a corrupted program, wouldn't run properly.

You are using the 120 volts right? I used the USB before and it doesn't have enough jam.

Your using the lower right for the 8000 offset? correct?

I thought it was a corrupted program, but was having problem just moving

or saving stock chip and trying to transfer to sst27!

I think u meant 12v,this guy I spoke to said doesnt matter what u use, board is desined to step voltage up!been using 12v though

8000 offset van starts and ran w/stock program transfered to sst27(good sign)

Yeah, using the plug in to 120V adapater. The USB power isn't good enough.

I wonder if a later model PC with a larger power supply(more wattage) is whats needed to run the USB port option?

Its still only a weak 5 volts-my work computers are fairly new and it barely lit up the power lights, plugged in the adapter, BAM, bright. Better just to use the wall outlet, more predictable I would bet too,
