Had to pull the engine. The rear main seal was leaking way to much, even after fixing all the other leaks.
The can of worms is open now.

I'm not so sure I can get behind this project SL of yours Unlucky. I mean I like it sooo much better when the members here spend weeks (or months) *talking* about what they are 'gonna do' Here you had the interior out like the first 3 days, then the motor gets pulled a few days later all the while you are showing pics of your progress... Yeah it's waaay better the other way Kick arse on that thing dude. I've had 2 SL's loved the handling balence and all around versitility on them I could four wheel drift SL #748 better than any of the L bodies I've owned

Just kidding Alan. Greg, I'm gonna come over and slip you an Ambien or 2. When your sleep walking, I'll have you sign the title over to me!!!! I say this because that is the next TM that I want to get. Nice ride, man.

Started to get back to the work needed for the shelby. New brake power booster
2.5 swing valve and large can actuator
Started to reinstall engine after rear seal replacement
Still have to replace rt side axle and exhaust yet.
Greg
That looks pretty good. Thanks for taking the time to post up the pics.
Looking great! You really don't waste time, I applaud you for that! I've had plans for my car for years...and have never really done anything. I'll get around to it...
2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Mods coming soon!
Thanks guys
Worked some more on it lately, put a full 2.5 exhaust on with a cut out, from my old Shadow, only needed about six more inches of pipe to fit the SL.
Installed the axle (again a spare from the shadow).
Vacuum block and new lines, heater/radiator hoses, and battery.
Tranny filter and fluid change atf4, with lube guard additive.
Removed all the trim in the hatch area, in persuit of removing the stinking sound deading, of which mice have made a home at one time.
Tracked down reasons for left turn signal not working,(broken wires by battery) and why headlights didn't work (column high/ low switch contacts broken)
Soon to go back to the track to see what improvement in times, these slight changes have made.
Greg
I love the pace as well.. I can't say its any faster than myself, but i don't post even a third of what i do to my junkers, whereas this makes a good storyline, like my grm aries.
The SL bug seems to be infecting me lately, but it'll just have to bide its time while i work on what ive got.. in the meantime i can check out this thread and feel like im practically there
Nice find.
I love h-bodies
New track times with just the new 2.5 swingvalve and exhaust cut out:

15.262 1/4

quite abit warmer weather this time too.
Base runs,
Best run, right of the street right on to track:
2.22 60 ft

9.91 69.65 mph
12.88
15.49 87.37 mph
automatic, g valve to 13#, stock, including exhaust
Greg
nice, keep us updated
Wow that isnt too bad of numbers.
Get a larger exhaust. I wanna see with just an exhaust upgrade if you can stretch it into the 14's.
Unlikely but I am an optimist
that was an exhaust upgrade... 2.5" sv and an open cutout. Doesnt get much better without spending a lot more money.
he could run 14s on slicks but realistically 88mph is a 15 second trap speed, to put it a certain way. Still cool
Newest up date. Installed the upgrades, 255 wabro, +40's,afpr, FWDP stage 4 lm and 3 bar map sensor.
With the fuel pressure set to 50# car started right up and idled great. Went for a drive to get fuel and small cruise. Drivability was great.
Out of the few TD's I have owned the SL has received the most complements.
Still have to drive to Jegs and get my 30/30 boost gauge, then back to the track next week.
Thanks for your interest, Greg
Great to hear! I'm surprised at the interest and compliments I get on the R/T. A lot of people recognize it surprisingly as opposed to my L-Bodies where people just say WTF is that?

Track results with new mods. 12# of boost in first gear, 15# in 2nd and 3rd. Steet tires, full exhaust.
Have a noticable boost leak, I have to find. Thought I had it found with a leaking talon blow off valve, I was running, but guess not. Transmission was slow to shift into 3rd at full throttle.
2.26 60'
6.19
8.89
9.49@73.98 mph
12.31
14.78@92.59 mph
May start to freshen up transmission next, shift kit+ Alto clutches and steels.
Greg
Great job. You really don't waste any time man.
