    build 2.2

    whats the best option to build a 2.2 turbo engine is better to put everything in standar size or go 10. 20. 30.40. im going to replace my pistons, connecting rods and main and rod bearings i dont now what size whats the best way to go for standar size or bigger size or is the same

    Ask your machine shop what you need. If your bores are not round then they will need to machine them so you would need larger than std. size.

    For best strength and ring seal, go no larger than .020" overbore, this gives you room in case you damage a bore down the road, .030 is a weird ring size.

    On the crank, I wouldn't go more than .010" under, unless your not beating on it, then .020" is ok.

    It only makes sense to go as little as needed. It gives you that extra metal for the next time.

    Yup let you machine shop determine that for you. Most blocks will need to go .020 over, and most cranks will get .010 under.

    Make shure you pics a shop with a well known rep. of good quality. and precision. 10 yrs ago i picked what i thaught was a good shop they overbored my 2.5 so much that you could push the piston to one side and you were able to see the hole width of the top ring. I was young and dumb and they told me this was the specs for my Kieth Black Hypertetic piston. I should have gotten a second shops advise.
