I'm not a v6 guy either but I just happen to have a 94 Duster minus the drivetrain in my yard right now. Green body tan interior, need anything?

    It's going to heaven tomorrow.

    Re: new

You should check out my page to see the things I have done. A good place to start would be...

52mm TB - the one you need to get depends on your transmission. If you have a 3 speed you need a TB off of a 87-88 3.0. if you have a 4 speed or a 5 speed you can use a TB off of a 3.3l.

better flowing intake - a cone filter right off the TB works best

exhaust - 2.5" is about the best size, I have the super turbo muffler which is louder than stock but not too loud

    under drive pulley

thats pretty much it for the performance bolt ons. there are plenum spacers being made, they are about $80 a set. if you want I can send you a link. while your in there you can port your intake plenum for some extra power.

if you really want to get into it, you can go with diamante cams and pistons. the pistons are 10:1 and the cams move your powerband up.

Honestly i would base some of your upgrade path on what transmission you have.

    Auto or manual?

stuff that you should do no matter what:

    52mm throttle body.

Intake of some kind that uses a high flow filter and COMPLETELY DISCARDS the stock piping and airbox. That 180* pipe? POS. stock airbox? POS. You can stick a filter right on the tb if you want, or pipe it down under the battery for a CAI, as long as you get rid of the stock stuff, lol.

I also enjoy 180 degree thermostats.

Advancing the timing is something i would do, but for some reason i have never ever had ping on advanced timing on 87 octane and some other people seem to, so i cant say its foolproof. I would advance it to 15*, imo.

#1 upgrade in my opinion - 5 Speed swap!
    Get a 3.0 over a 2.5 TBI!!

    Re: new

Unfortunately we dont have a tbi section here.. im all over this forum and see people asking about them from pretty frequently but noone is asking for a TBI section so we dont have one.

Anywho, i modded a tbi lightly and got it to make ~115-120 hp with simple stuff, but the bottom line is it will not go very fast.. i had it in a light Aries with a 5spd and it still would only trap 77 mph. The TBI throttle body is a huge obstacle to making power and noone has really tried swapping on anything different (although i have some ideas).

As for whether a tbi bottom end with 200k miles on it (is that what you meant?) can be turboed... yep, it sure can. It doesnt have as durable of pistons as a turbo motor but the rods are the same as the early turbo motors and the cranks are the same as most turbo motors. If you keep it from running lean or detonating the TBI bottom end can definitely handle stock boost levels and give you double the torque you're getting right now.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Advance the timing to ~15 degrees. Much more and you start losing power.

52mm TB. If you want a little more, I can port it for $25.
or 58mm TB or 60mm TB(I can can port these too)
    Cold Air Intake (aka CAI)
    Ported upper intake. $150
    Ported lower intake. $50
    Ported heads. stage 1 & 2 available.

For the really aggressive, turbo headers.

When I get the TB and Intake both for porting, I port match them as well.

Not sure about SMEC/SBEC's but Power Modules in the older cars do overheat w/o airflow.
