is that some sort of cam seal keeper inner? why didnt all the cars get this thing? they needed it.

Its a guard for the early cars that used the exposed cam end type seal instead of the cap. It won't help keep your seal in, it's so you don't get anything caught in the rotating cam end.

84-85 turbo cars had that, later models did not. I may have one in a box somewhere also

I went to the JY today and found one on a LeBaron GTC t1 log car. 1st time I ever saw one. I just figured my car was supposed to have one since I have the stud bolts on all 4 corners of the VC.
