    88 Plymouth Reliant TII/Auto

    Ok, here's the scoop.

About 5 years ago, my brother bought an 88 Plymouth Reliant down in Florida and drove it to Michigan. Upon getting up there, swapped in a performance N/A cam. The cam seal wasn't sealed properly for some reason and it blew out and fried the engine. About that same time, I was going to be junking my 89 Turbo Caravan. We yanked the engine/wiring and fuel pump from the caravan and installed in the Reliant. We cleaned the engine bay very well and re-painted it white before installing the engine. Since then, my brother has gotten married and his wife absolutely hates the look of the Reliant and refuses to let him bring the car down to Florida where we all live now. So he's in the market for another Turbododge that she will allow him to park in the driveway. He's looking for something along the lines of a Spirit or Spirit R/T, CSX, Shelby Lancer, Lancer Shelby, or just a normal Turbo Lancer. He's open to other vehicle options, except for L bodies. I'll have to find some pictures of the Reliant for you guys. I have some on my linux server, but that is sitting on my bedroom floor as I don't have a static IP down in Florida yet.

So.. let's see what you guys got.

I don't have anything to trade, but where's the car at in Michigan and what does he want for it?

It's currently at my old house in Clinton Township, near Mt. Clemens.
He's looking to get 1200-1300 for it with no trades.

Here's a little extra info on the car.
2.5 Turbo with 1 piece intake
Stock Garrett turbo with Turbo II Compressor housing
    Balance shafts removed
New rod/main bearings when we dropped the engine in.
Engine has roughly 110,000 on it. Probably 2k or so on the new bearings.
Tranny was gone through during the swap, brand new clutches installed.
    Radiator/Intercooler combo
I accidentally put a small dent in the hood when moving the car from my old house to the house it's at now.

    Problems:
Gremlin in the wiring. When I had my Caravan, very rarely it would just stop running for 10-15 mins. After letting it sit, it'd start again just fine. It started getting worse last fall to the point where I wouldn't drive it anywhere unless I had an extra 30 mins to get there. I've tried multiple computers with the same effect, so it probably needs a new wiring harness. I'm trying to find a new harness to drop in the car on my next trip back up to Michigan to see if that helps.

Problem 2: It was never planned to be a daily driver, so the turnsignals were never hooked up in the front, and I never spliced the wires together for the wipers.

Problem 3: Stronger brakes needed, Brake boosting up to 12 psi in 1st gear pulls through the brakes. Other than that, they work just fine:-D

    man o man,

I remember looking at this thing probably right after the conversion in 2004-5 when my large friend Spencer wanted this thing. Back then it was a very clean body. Its too bad the car is not a wagon or two door.

I'd snatch it up if it was.

lol, I don't feel like spending an hour setting up my Linux server just to tear it down next week to move again. I'm gonna make Mystryguy take more this weekend.

Pictures can be found here: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=36838

No longer for trade, as I bought an 88 Notchback Mustang and traded it to him. The K-Car is MINE NOW, MUAHAHAHAHA... cough... excuse me.

But it's still for sale :-D
