Ive got the heavy duty axles on my CSX with the large outer joints. I need new CV boots. What kind of vehicle would I look up to get the right boot? I seem to remember they use GM outer knuckles? I dont know though.

Are they the made in England GKN axles?

Those are the axles my 89 LeBaron GTC came with from the factory. I was able to purchase new boot kits at advanced, but they might ask you to look at a picture and confirm the shape of the boot.

Heavy duty boot, of course.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
i just bring the axles in lol.
its either saginaw (hard plastic boots) or GKN (rubber boots).

I also replaced the leaking power steering pump and pressure line, fixed the oil leak smoking mess, and replaced the oil pan gasket. Oil pan is still leaking I guess I gotta drop it and use some RTV.
I use the rubber end pieces, and a bead of Permatex "the right stuff" on the rails. It's much better than standard RTV.

yeah "the right stuff" is hard core. i just used a touch of that on my geo metro t-stat housing to ensure that the paper gasket wont leak.

specially for being immersed (pretty much) in oil?
I think my crank scraper is the problem.......I think it changes the distance that the pan sets from the front and rear end pieces, cause its leaking right out the rear end piece. Either that or the gasket got twisted.
Ill try "the right stuff" to fill the gap and see what happens.
