    Karting?

Just read the schedule for SDAC 19 and "karting" is scheduled for Monday? Whats that? Go-karting? Or is this when we clear out all the other hotel customers and run circle track racing around the lot?

    Re: Karting?

We are trying to set up an indoor go-kart time for Monday during the day.

The problem with evening drag racing (afternoon actually) is to find something for folks to do during the day. We don't want folks sitting around the parking lot driinking beer all day and then going to the dragstrip.

Anyone that has beer or alcohol on their breath when they come to get their tech cards at the strip won't get one, they will NOT be allowed to race.

It's not really night racing though, the strip wants us done by about 10 pm and it doesn't get really dark outside till about then.

Hopefully it will be a little cooler than the last time we were there during the day.

They are 9HP "Euro" karts, they will see about 35MPH down the back straight - and when you are 2" off the ground it feels like 100MPH.

And each kart has an electronic lap timer, so after the session you get a print out of lap times....

    It's da shizzle.

    Re: Karting?

I think Barry changed it to Tuesday because its closed on Monday. Those karts are fun! Fat guys like me can't get good times but I get great grip and "bumps" don't throw me into the wall. Big plus is the casino boats are across the street.

Well, there'll be more than one chunkster.
    John Laing

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."
    -- Justice Antonin Scalia
