Cecil is a fast track and usually well prepped. Tech has been pretty easy for me, but I never mention how fast the car is.

    Tech guys are great!

They let Stephane make several runs in the Charger when there was no way that car would pass tech.

And they prep the track so good it almost pulls your shoes off your feet.

    So come on down!

    GLHS 065 Does 1320Ft burnout!!

Went to LVD today...... Car sucks. It went 12.0 the first pass no nitrous. Then when it was on the spray in burned out in 2nd, 3rd, and all the way through 4th across the line. Its best pass of the day was 11.7 @ 122 somthing. The MPH sucks because the car burns out like its on ice all the way down the track. There is NO WAY it would pull and decent #'s with the total lack of traction. I guess 600ft lbs isnt gonna hang with 24.5x8x15 MT's anymore. Time to step up to some super wide 13 in rims i guess. I will post the video as soon as possible. One of the board members taped a pass and he saw it burn the tires all the way from start to finish sideways.

The car is so squirrley is just rediclous. Im ok with it but it really keeps you in check when it pulls the wheel outa your hands or just shakes the tires when the spedo is wraped in the 15mph zone (meaning 140ish)

Kelly (turbo3IROC) was there and saw the car run.....sideways.

Luke, this is why you are such a great TM-er! You go sick fast into the 11's on your 1st time at the track w/ a new setup and you complain. Now that is a GOOD attitude sir, don't you settle for anything other than your 10 second goal.

...............very impressive maiden trials. LVD is notorious for being icey (see my post from 2 weeks ago), get better tires and get to Cecil or Englishtown or Atco.

I" can't wait for the video! Good job keeping it off the wall spinning at 120+ mph.

Dial it down a bit and I'm sure you'll go faster. If you're at a 400-425 tune, I bet you'd see low 11's.

That track has fresh pavement too. For the first test and tune, I don't think they prepped the surface very well. I think by the end of May (TD day), the track should be better and MOST of your traction woes SHOULD go away.
I should be ready be then.

    Re: Glhs #065 540hp/600tq!!

come to cecil on sat., the track is always great
mph seems low for that much hp/wheel spin
drop the nitrous shot some and come play
that thing should go easy 10's with those hp #
Your making way more power then me or Mike with a car as heavy as Mike's

    Re: Glhs #065 540hp/600tq!!

The 60' isnt really so much of my problem......its the 3rd and 4th gear burnout that is killing it.

Like I said before....people usually see a high hp car spinning the tires and netting a higher et but also a higher mph.......but those car usually spin to the 1/8 then kinda slingshot the car to a crazy mph when it hooks. My car is just plain burning out outa control. I would rather get a better wheel/tire setup then de-tune a car that is running perfect the way it sits. That motor took it all day long and loved it. At the end of the track after a nitrous run w/ like 35psi it was like 2 lines off the cold on the temp guage. Never skipped a beat once at all. Not once.

    Re: Glhs #065 540hp/600tq!!

Glad to hear you had no breakage and that it's running cool. Putting an 8v stick car into the 10's is a little tougher that a lot of ppl think. 11's in an L-body is an easy equation, make enough power, slap on some slick and go. 10's however, become more about the driver and getting the car to hook and preform all the way down the track. Trust me, I've had enough HP to run 10's for the last three years and I just eeked out a 10.99 at the end of last season. I'm sure if I made the Charger more of a "track only" car it would come a lot easier, but, like you, I'll Never give up driving the Charger as much as possible on the street! Give yourself some seat time and see what happens. How much preasure were you running in the slicks?
