Thread: How would I scale a 3d fuel table?

  1. #1

Question How would I scale a 3d fuel table?

I want to tweak a T3 cal to use +40 injectors. They use a 3D fuel tables which I am unfamiliar with. Would I scale more than 1 axis (normally just Y)?

What are the different axes? I imagine you would only need to scale the pulsewidth like 2D tables, but I don't know what the other axes are to be sure.

X and Y show on the table address but the Z axis is active with the scaling function. The axes are only identified as X,Y and Z but I presume X and Y are MAP value and pulsewidth respectively. I don't know what Z is for.

Shellgame will know. I've never worked with TIII stuff so I'm not going to make a guess at what each axis does.

Eh, you can't really scale the axis. You need to scale all of the datapoints in the table. But, there are also other fuel tables that need to be scaled (just like in the older code). There is a shortcut to scaling the 3D tables, though. There's a constant that specifies the A/F (actually, 2 1 for WOT and 1 for P/T). I don't remember if it's ID'd in my older T3 table file. But, this A/F constant only affects the 3D fuel tables - not the code start, or transient enrichment tables.

At this point, neither CHeM nor InjScale.exe can support scaling the 3D tables for injectors. They're only setup for the 2D tables. There's really no simple way to scale a T3 cal for injectors.

That's not the answer I was looking for!

Already doing that. I'll actually be changing some other stuff on a cal that has good fuel tables, sort of a "back door" approach.
