fault code 26 on my shelby

I'm in the process of doing a engine swap from a 88 shelby into a 89 es Daytona, got the car running but running rough. Got fault code 26 Injector driver circuit 1 open or shorted. Checked the resistance on the injectors got 2.4 ohms got continunity on the harness to the ecm. I'm new at troubleshooting these kind of things. I don't what to buy a ECM if i don't have to.

Bummer, the injector driver circuit is in the logic board of the SMEC.

It could also be a bad wire/connection somewhere within the injector harness? If you can test with another smec you would be able to find out.....

I had this happen to me, the wiring and injectors are new. Being I socket SMEC's I trying to find info on repairing them. These SMEC's are 20 yrs old, You can't expect them to last forever. $200. for a SMEC ? Is that brand new from a dealer or something ?

I get that code every great while on my 88 shelby z. Peak injector current not achieved. I would tend to guess that if your car is like mine, the wiring for the injectors is dryer and more brittle than it was 20 years ago, and it sits realitvely close to the turbo. I just restart the car and it goes away after a few cycles, it only happens like once every couple years.
Plus on mine sometimes the car will drop an injector when it's first started after sitting for a long time, which I atribute to the old dry wiring. Unless this fault happens all the time, I'd tend to not think it was the smec.

No, it wont work as the tbi only has 1 or 2(cant remember??) injectors so completely different.

If you look in the f/s section working smecs usually go for around $50
