    Re: daytona rear disc conversion

If anyone wants my drawings, just PM me with your email address, and I send them to you. They are in AutoCAD 2000 format, which most waterjets should be able to use.
Just remember that I am not liable for how your brakes turn out. All I can verify is that mine went together just fine.

These are some rough pics of my drawings:

This is a 1/8" thick spacer, that goes between the backing plate and caliper mount.

This is the caliper mounting bracket, with dimensions. I know it's cluttered, but you wouldn't want to do your own drawing from it.

These are the tabs that the brake pads, and caliper, slide on.

These are the supports that the tabs rest against.

This is a side view of the caliper mounting bracket, and supports, w/o dimensions.

All of the tabs can be MIG welded to the backing plates, because the backing plates are not cast. I thought they were, but my welder knew better.

    Re: daytona rear disc conversion

I still haven't tried the setup on the road yet, and won't be able to until next spring. I can't see any reason that it won't work, but you never know. The setup does fit inside my 15" crab and snowflake wheels, with a lot of room to spare. I couldn't get the Willwoods to even come close to fitting in either one.

    Here are some photos:

This is the backing plate and the 1/8" thick spacer. The curved area, at the top of the spacer, lines up with the curved top of the backing plate. The sides, of the spacer, line up with the sides of the backing plate. This makes it easy to correctly align them.

This is the caliper's mounting plate. The sides and top curve mate up to the backing plate's.

This is how the caliper sits, but without the support tabs.

This is how the bracket looks with the pad supports. Yes, I know that the powdercoating will break off, so it will be removed from the pad areas.

You can see how the pads and caliper rest on the tabs.

This shows how the underside of the tabs will need to be ground flush. Any extra weld will interfere with the pads and calipers.

For anyone trying to contact me, I apologize in advance, because I don't check TM very often. I am usually too busy working on my 2 car projects, but get on at least every week.
