    Fixing the wrecked neon

About a month ago, on snowy roads, I took a corner way too fast and ran into (and mostly over) a large ice pile with a bit of snow on it. I noticed a few days later that with every throttle movement there was a clunk. I sheared off the front mount bolt, tore out another mount stud from the lower rad support, and overall, did a real number on the poor old commuter.

So knowing that swapping rad supports would be a huge pain, I decided to make up a brace, that will be bolted in later today. It will fit around the lower rad support beam and I'll have to drill 2 holes and bolt it on. Other than that, it's a fairly simple bit of fabricating. I just thought I'd share in case your neon has had similar problems. Fear not. We have the technology, we can rebuild him.

    Re: Fixing the wrecked neon

I didn't really want a rad support, but thanks for the late offer. I wouldn't know what to do with a rust-free B.C. part on an Ontario car. lol It's installed (and quite easily, I might add.)

It works great, and yes, when I can, I'd rather save a buck and make the parts myself.
