    s60 vs stocker, power gains?

hey guys I just recently got my 89 CSX back on the road. I didnt however install the s60 Ive had in the garage for quite some time. I plan on doing a little drag racing this summer and am wondering how much hp/et gains I would have by tearing it back apart and installing the s60. I believe it is a true s60 btw.

My current setup is a t3 on VNT electronics, 3 inch crush bent exhaust with a 2.5 DP. I plan on cranking it to 18 psi or so once it is broke in. I have no plans for a FMIC becuase I dont want to cut up the car. I may try and track down a t2 IC becuase Ive heard they flow a tad better.

So if I pulled the stock t3, and installed a s60 with a 3in SV and a 3inch DP, kept it around 18psi. What kind of gains would I see?

    Thanks

The only stock mounting intercooler that will out flow yours is the S60. It's the 90 model VNT intercoolers that did not flow as well as the pre 90 OE intercoolers.

I've tried the super 60 intercooler in both a 87 CSX and a 2.5 TII 82 GLHSized Rampage and my but-o-meter could not tell the difference.

I have no experience with the S60 turbo.

If you remove the stock intercooler you dont have to cut anything up for a FMIC.

Without an IC, hard to say, probably 50 or so whp at the same boost level.

Yeah, after thinking more, I'd agree.

Pretty easy to tell if you have a Turbonetics made Super60 with .63 turbine housing.

You don't have to cut the car to install a FMIC in a CSX. It's not like an Omni that has no space in the front.
