After another 6 hrs of studies and fiddling I was able to source better components and make changes that shed 2lbs per arm off of the previous design and still maintain sufficient deflection and safety factors.
The changes include a high misalignment spherical, double snap rings for easier machining and bearing removal, smaller spherical housing, shorter kingpin, 5/8CM rod ends vs the 3/4 plain carbon versions and mixed wall thicknesses to put the strength where I need it. On computer this puts the weight including bearings and kingpin at 5.74lbs vs the 7.72lbs of the previous version. So you don't have to look back, I weighed my cast arms at 10.5lbs without the ball joint.
