I would say fix it and go full on 2.4 swap on it...

Go all out. It may be a rareish car (low mile, good body and such) but in the end, it won't be worth almost anything. Go all out, make it worth more in the long run! (if you don't ruin it or total it or drive it like its fast)

fix the body and leave as is. keep it as a nice survivor, I'd pay more in the end for a stock (even if n/a) non tampered with car than one thats been hacked to hell.

IMO, clean survivor regular sedans aren't worth much. '60s sedans with nothing special get only around $4-5K, the only ones that go for stupid money are the ones that can be made into clones of muscle cars, but ANY old p-body could be cloned into a CSX if that's what the market goes nuts for, so it's not more particularly valuable than any other P-body. Then if it is gonna be worth more as a CSX clone/equivalent, then it'll be worth more the closer to that it already is...

It has some cool factor though and would probably be worth preserving the original look as much as possible and go as nuts with the motor as you like, up to cutting holes int the firewall etc. You could keep all the original low mileage parts. So I'd say have fun with it.

    Re: indecision 2009

took delivery of my shiny smashed up car. the junkyard I bought it from included delivery in the price of the car before asking where I lived. nice of em to stick to there word even though I live about 1 hour from town.

They washed it and used a flat bed to bring it out.

after running around it giggling like a school girl several times. I started it up and let it run for 20 mins. then went on a test drive to the corner store. (10k away).

long story short I had no idea these cars were this quite and smooth and pretty much perfect, no rattles or anything. I had no idea these were ever rattle free. I wonder at what mileage it all falls apart. lol. its going to hurt me a little when i take it all apart.

In the early 90s, Iaccoca had them compare cars off the lines directly against Toyotas for fit and finish. Several reviews of the era, mentioned things like "bank vault" like door closing/fit. Usually by the time we get them, they've had the snot, the piss and the crap pounded out of them.
