Fastest stock SRT4 based turbo setup 2.0L neon in existence

    Name: Jason Dunaway
    Email: dunnybaby69 (at) yahoo.com
    Location: Middletown, Ohio 45042
    Model: Dodge Neon sport coupe
    Color: Emerald Green
    Year: 1996
    Mileage: 117k body, 200 engine
    Price: $6500

LOL I figured the title would get some attention.....so here goes....

This has been my project for almost 3 years (I've owned the car since '97) and the time has come for me to sell for the right price.

This is currently one of the fastest and most powerful SRT4 based setups in existence without a clipped wheel or nitrous. This is one of two 1G setups that I know of that use a 2.0L block with an SRT4/2.4L head. I specifically chose each component of the setup to be unique and to stick with as many standard off the shelf parts for as much reliability as possible.

I honestly believe that this car has at least an 11.5 pass @ 119-120mph. My last trip to the track I snapped my driver's side axle (stock) but it came out of the hole like it never had before. The track had been sprayed with VHT right before that pass. The best '60 time I've had is 1.88 and there is a LOT of room for improvement with that.

As far as power/tuning goes, I also believe that the current setup will yield at least another 15whp or more on the dyno. My tuning session was done on 16psi of boost with a POS WGA and it still made 318whp/313wtq on a conservative tune. I could easily see 330whp/325wtq being possible with another trip to the dyno....and over 300whp on ANY dyno. This is all obtainable by the current stock SRT4 turbo.

The point is that there is MORE potential with this setup and the "right" person will easily be able to achieve even more with it.

    Here are the details:

    Engine (everything < 200 miles):
Professionally built 2.0L (Per4mance Motorsports Cincinnati, Ohio)

    New valve seals

    Darrel Cox oil modifier
Everything cleaned, reassembled, and head checked for straightness

Ported O2 area where O2 housing connects (opened up to match 3" O2 housing)

    Body:
Glossy paint, straight, no rust or damage.

If I cannot fetch a fair price out of this then I will simply keep everyting and work to hit new records and goals this year. It does have a rebuilt Ohio title but it wasn't due to excessive damage (I can provide details). Unfortunately my time is scarce (part of why I'm selling) therefore it may be a while for me to really enjoy it on the track and street. I have achieved every goal I set out to do and I've loved every minute of the build. As you can imagine I have more money in the buildup than what I'm asking but I'm a reasonable person and know that you don't get back every penny you sink into a hobby.

Photos of the build can be found here:

    Thanks JT!

As for the reason for selling.........I'd like to get out of the "game" for a minute and step back to see what my options are for both a new car as well as to become debt free as quickly as possible. I'm in a position where I can afford a much nicer car OR get that much closer to paying off my home. It seems like I have less time every year to wrench on cars so I'm considering taking a break from it all and spectating at events rather than participating. I took a new job last April that requires a 2.5hr commute every day and only offers 2 weeks of vacation each year so it is hard to find time to work on and enjoy it. But if I can't get a fair amount of money then I'll keep it and try to get it out to more cruise ins and track events.

    Damn!

That is supposed to be a STG 3 setup in a first gen neon. 10.7@132mph

Huh.....so my setup is $1500 (stg 3 w/supporting mods) or so away from being a 10 second car.

    UPDATE:

I'm not trying hard but the car is still for sale. The stock axles will be replaced with DSS Stage 3 axles/hubs within a few weeks. They will be included for the same price. I'll most likely hang on to it and racing another year but if interested send me an email. Thanks!

I've had some interest but no deals that have came through.

I'm entertaining offers now. Keep extreme lowball offers to yourself....but if you have some interest and have a number in mind throw it my way at dunnybaby69 @ yahoo.com .

I don't plan on parting it but a sale would greatly help towards my new obsession with a certain twin turbo coupe
