Allpar has a story about new Challengers built specefically for class racing. I wonder if anything ever came out of it??

    Thanks

Thats what he's referring to. You actually order the cars through dealer parts depts. they have no VINS, you can have them with 5.7, 5.9, or 6.1 in either auto or manuals.
Go here and click the links. Its good reading.

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

AT TIMES SEAN,HAHAHA, BUT I GEUSS THAT CHARLIES BLOSSOM,IS HAVING FUN
DIFFRENT TIME ,LIKE 15 OR MORE YEARS AGO,ART,DENNIS WOULD DRIVE IN
THERE TD's qualifiy .top 5, and then dive home, less tow vehicle, trailer, camper.LOL

YES! .RACEIT, THE LANCER WOULD BE, A VERY DIFFRENT ,AND COOL CAR
YOU WOULD LOOK, IN HNRA,UNDER 'RULES' THEN YOU'II SEE CAR CLASSIFICATION,
    ENGINE RATINGS,SPECS , FOR YEAR/MANIFACTURE
IN ENGINE,YOU WOULD SEE HP RATINGS,AND THE MOTORS THAT BELONGED TO MODEL
WOULD BE FUN, NOT ALOT OF MONEY, YOU CAN BE RUNNING UNDER THE INDEX.
GOOD SHORT BLOCK,BLUEPRINTED HEAD,GOOD TRANS AND CONVERTER,LOTS OF BOOST
AND SLICKS, YOU SHOULD BE KILLING THEM,AND ROPING HORSES, OK! JOKING
AM SURE ART,DENNIS, HAVE KILLER RECEPES FOR 2.2's

GLH YOU GUYS HAVE A PRETTY GOOD HOCKEY TEAM, BUT WE HAVE THE DEVIL'S,LOL
    THE Challengers,were produced,and even tested.At 36gs.Alot cheaper than the.COBRA JETS
at 60gs. Maybe in Florida,MARCH, the will come out.
Don Garlitts was actully to race one of the factory.Challengers,in Pomona ,the 1st race

What come of it, every car ,model, from 1960 ,to present, has to be looked over
learned, spec out, before .NHRA says theres a class for the car.
NHRA, hasn't police boost on our cars. But if you ever got torn down.
Possible they would look at your factory turbo, and din't measure right,You cheeted, lol
To run a combination, guys like.Art did have to submitt specs to .NHRA,.
So we all could run turbo cars.YEAHHHHHHHHHH

One of the neighbors drove by, saw these shiny black Rampage panels spread out and thought we cut up the TII truck, he almost went in the ditch thinking my dad was crazy!!

LOL, thats a cool story. I must admit though, even to this day I'm still in love with your black R/T and the detail underneath that car. The only part I didn't care for was the engine colors, other than that, right down to the shaker hood, I wouldn't change a thing!

I got that alot about the motor colors. It was originally going to be all red/silver but none of the parts matched the same shade of red (anodize, plastic pieces, painted) so when I cnc'd the Neon logo in the valve cover I decided on the Neon Racing/Mopar Performance color scheme. I still consider redoing it in Silver and Red like the rest of the car but to date it just sits in the corner in a car bag waiting again for its turn. Heck 10 more years my son might be driving it....

I know when I had my 2nd gen. I always wanted it to be show only. I got tired of spending all week cleaning every nook and cranny to go sit out in the sun and watch people look at it while I heard racing in the background. After that I decided I needed something faster. I sold it and bought an SRT-4, then family came and needed something bigger so I traded my ACR in on a Durango. I went to a Mopar event and raced the SRT in the Super Pro category and went three rounds before red lighting. I didn't have any friends in the pit that day. I even overheard one guy with a NSS AMX bitching about red lighting against that F'ing rice thing. LOL! The car was bone stock in appearance!

Re: Help me build a turbovan into a drag car!

Ok, I have two questions if I may...

    1. Has anyone ever weighed the various stock Mopar FWD wheels? Can anyone tell me what the crab wheels weigh?

    2. Say I put the NHRA stock deal on the back burner, and wanted to swap turbos. Would the Garrett off of that 86 be an upgrade over the Mitsu on the 89 Van, assuming it's possible? If so, how much of an upgrade?

    Sean Hanig,

I saw you on the other forum talking about the World Footbrake Challenge. Are you going to that event?

I am curious of anyone out there you know has multiple cars, or would possibly be interested in a hired gun for the weekend??? Someone might be able to make some money off of me!

If you know anyone who might be interested let me know, I can send along a 'resume' lol.

Crabs are ~16lbs on my 'garage' scale (it's the old bathroom scale my wife threw out 'casue it wasn't 'accurate' ). Mopar small-bolt Centerlines are ~11lbs each (15x6) and 9lbs each (15x3.5).

Well I've been "testing" with my bone stock Durango at test n tunes. Its deadly consistant and my lights haven't been bad either . Our points season starts on my wedding night so I've been told I'll miss opening season. But if I do well during our season, I may drive it up there and give it a shot. $350 for a chance at 30k is tempting. As for rides, I'll keep an eye out.

Are you using the Centerlines? And if so why did you go with 6" over 7"? Was it an offset thing?

I went with the 6" rims simply because I found them first. I was (and still am) looking for used 15x7's. But not having much luck. You can still order them new from Jegs or Summit. I also think that having the sidewal cantilevered a little might help traction. I guess we'll see.

I really want to find a used pair of 24" MT slicks to fit my 14x7 Centerlines. And then run the 3.77 gears.

I see. I have 15x7 wheels on the Shadow now and was going to measure the backspace on them to see how close Centerline can come, or call Holeshot and see what they will do. Plus they're about 45 minutes from town.
