Its in the store. But I didn't see it for sale seperately. May have to PM Frank and ask him.
Is a spool a mandatory mod? Could I just get away with shimming the swaybar to preload the wheel with less traction? Is there a factory limited slip I could dig up?
I priced spools, I'd have more in one than the rest of the bloody van!
I use a Phanton Grip. But, it didn't completely stop the one-wheel burnouts. I tried shimming the swaybar and didn't like it. Funky steering. Maybe I just need too much weight moved away from the pasenger seat.
I put my ballast box on the passenger side where the carbon canister used to reside. It's 100lbs total. That helped with the peg-leg burnouts more than anything else I've tried.

Been there done that to the barn LOL.

You can run it but like Rob said his car didn't always spin both tires. You can run ANY transmission that will bolt into the car and engine as long as it was available in the car. IE I can't use an automatic in my GLHS because it never came with, but I can put a 568 in it if I desire.
But, you could put a 3-speed auto in a Spirit R/T? Assuming you could figure out how to make the crank sensor work. That's interesting...
Oh - you gotta do it, that'd give an SRT-4 a run in A/FS.
An R/T ECU? Well, the code is easy. Since it already exsists in the T1 ECU, I could just paste it in. The only problem - I'd have to reconfigure one of the purge or cruise solenoid outputs to run the LU solenoid instead. But, you don't need those in a race car, right?
Should be pretty simple. Of course, my ambition often (usually?) exceeds my free time
Omni's came with 3-spd automatics, the GLHS is an omni and the classification guide does not list the car as "manual trans only". At a min weight of 2510 w/driver it MAY have a chance against an MTX SRT4 which has to weigh 3208 w/driver in AF/S. A better project would be an ATX SRT4 (3108 min weight) and far more potential based on the cam rules and RPM capabilities of that motor.
Rob - we'll have to talk more on this ATX Spirit - mine would be a street car but I could sacrifice the purge circuit for lockup output. Couldn't run it as a stocker since it already has a ported head, intake, exhaust and big turbo..
I know there was at least one Spirit R/T out there that was sucessfully converted to ATX. I saw pictures of it years ago after the guy bought it and had it on a lift. So, it CAN be done!
Question about the SRT-4...we all know it's a Neon, but we also know that Mopar didn't want to acknowledge that fact and that ALL of them were MTX cars. So, does the rule book differentiate between Neons and SRT-4's like Mopar? If not, then you could run the 41TE(A604)!!! From what I hear that is the way to go now as tuning the tranny is a LOT easier via laptop then having to drop the pan all the time. Also, the case and diff are stronger than the 31TH(A413) AND you get OD AND lock-up!!! A604 FTW!!! (I KNEW that day would come...and I've been saying it for 10 years!
