Why not dyno the car before the header comes off? Why does it have to be A-B? I know it will be more accurate for HP gains, but how can you market that gain for everyone's car. Unless you sell it as part of a package. There are so many combo's I doubt that the test car is even completly stock other than the header. If so even better, just dyno the car once the stocker is back on

I think this is the truth behind it all. Now, the couple of hundred dollars of investment in labor and dyno time may be outweighed within a few additional units from people on the fence, but that's up to the vendor to decide how bad they need to move a product. I could see it making sense for a complete replacement unit over a ported stock unit from a business standpoint. You have something to prove. Opening up a stock piece is a bit simpler, with less questions from potential buyers.

Or at least someone who published the results. Surely someone else out there has done similar testing. Gary D did on cams back in the day in his Daytona at the track, although it was a less than ideal candidate to showcase cam profiles on, and so the results weren't exactly impressive.

Well I for one really appreciate you guys taking the time to do the R&D on this before releasing this to the masses. Not to mention spending your own money before asking others to commit to buying a product, especially when you guys aren't even vendors. Thanks guys!!

Re: BadAss 2.2L/2.5L Equal Length Runner Tubular Header Group Buy

OK, been too busy to read much of anything online lately but just catching up on threads I read the last page or so of this one and I would like to clarify something. The "testing" mensioned is more for performace and durability. Wanted to get some good runs on the part, put tons of heat into it and let it cool, see if it warps, cracks, etc. I never mentioned anything about this being a back to back test, and although others have, that was not planned as everyone's car and setup is different and even if it was compared to a cast FM header (what was on the Charger prior) or a ported stocker, there will be folks that would say it was done wrong anyway.

I do have an update. Due to a HG issue on the test car, and having to remove the head, the SS header might come off an the MS header proto go on so we can use the SS for fixtures. Will depend on if the MS fits with the same DP... Stay tuned.

Also, BTW... the header allows for both the turbo and manifold to be removed without the removal of the head, but this made it easy to look into now.
